Best ranking beaches of the world

As Europe and North America mark the top of summer, a dating review website has listed the simplest skinny-dipping spots within the world and a KwaZulu-Natal beach has made the list.

MyDatingAdviser.com planned out its top 25 best spots for skinny dipping, with Mpenjati Beach within the Mpenjati Nature Reserve (Port Edward) ranking number 16 within the Skinny Dipping Index Score, the statement read.

So how did Dating Adviser rank the simplest skinny-dipping spots?

According to the dating website, they compared 100 nude swimming spots across the world to work out the simplest locations to enjoy a thin dip. They then ranked the highest 25 skinny dipping locations, with the highest swimming spot per country.

The criteria:

  • Beach quality
  • Safety
  • Weather
  • Location costs

The scoring was calculated through the seven key metrics of thin dipping. They are:

  • Friendliness
  • Pollution
  • Blue Flag status
  • Weather
  • Air temperature
  • Water temperature
  • Safety
  • Hotel cost
  • The top five countries
  • Lokrum Island, Dubrovnik, Croatia, index score: 84.5
  • Spiaggia della Lecciona, Tuscany, Itay, index score: 79
  • Maslin Beach, Adelaide, Australia, index score: 72.75
  • English Garden, Munich, Germany, index score: 68.75
  • Barreta Island, Faro, Portugal, index score: 67.5

Mpenjati Beach has been only official nudist beach in South Africa since 2014. After numerous appeals, public admissions and criticism, the municipality decided to offer the go-ahead and nudity became somewhat normalised in KZN.

Giving Mpenjati Beach a thin Dipping Index Score of 59 out of 100, the dating adviser described the reserve as “beautiful”.4

The beach is found just outside the town of Margate and may be a 250-metre stretch of land within the Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality.

Despite the liberty of letting it all hang around , the nudist beach has some rules. They include the prohibition of photographs unless prescribed , people cannot stare at one another and no suggestive behaviour is allowed, consistent with SA Venues.
